Having taken Ankit Bansal's 'Python for Data Engineering' live bootcamp and looking back at how far I've come in 5 weeks, I have to say I am extremely grateful! We started with the basics of Python i.e.(data types, variables, loops, lists, tuples, arrays, dictionaries, functions, Big O notation(time and space complexity), etc) and then took what we learned and built a project that taught us how to load data into AWS cloud, extract the data, and run validations. This project was very challenging but well worth it. It set the foundation for building my first ETL pipeline.

We learned about Pandas, Numpy, working with CSV files and learned to flatten JSON files and transform them into tabular data in Panda's data frames. Ankit taught us how to load our data frames into SQL and use both SCD type 1 and SCD type 2 that would be used in real life use cases. He taught us about API's and how they are used to obtain data from websites. It was then that i understood the importance of knowing how to flatten JSON files because when you use API's the data it is stored as a JSON file. Each project built on the last one, and I learned a lot in this bootcamp.

There was homework after each class(session) to help us further grasp the foundations and concepts. Sir Ankit and Sir Nachiket answered every doubt and were always there to assist to make sure we understood the teachings. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and my sincerest gratitude to both of you!

The Data Engineering Bootcamp really boosted my confidence and helped me learn a lot of new skills. I'll be moving from a QA role to a Data Engineer role in my company this August!

At first, I was unsure if I could build a full pipeline on my own. But after completing the NamasteKart ETL project — including both SCD Type 1 and Type 2. Now, i feel confident in building pipelines from scratch.

During the bootcamp, I also got to learn on new concepts like data structures, AWS Lambda functions, logging, and Snowflake.

Looking forward to learning even more in the upcoming Databricks and PySpark bootcamp!
